My Journey

Prior to becoming a Housing Counselor, I graduated in 2019 from Clarkston High School - where I was President of DECA, Captain of the Knowledge Bowl team, a National Merit Commended Scholar, and competed in my first pageant.

I went to Southern Methodist University that fall (which is where I met my husband). I first remember having feelings of urgency around the affordable housing crisis when the fear of, "What now?" sunk in after my now-husband and I found out we were pregnant with our first daughter when I was only 18 and he was 19.

We were lucky to have lots of helping hands offered to us between our families and friends, but understand that so many young, especially teen, parents don't have this same support as they work to create stability for a little one.

I graduated SMU with my Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a massive pile of student loans in 2021. Following graduation I spent 3 years in Client Partnerships, Operations, and Success at high-growth startups in Dallas and NYC (with clients ranging from very small business to FAANG/Fortune 500).

In spring/summer 2023 my husband and I were very busy as we founded Website Granted, a bespoke website builder and hosting service and had our second daughter (if you like this website and would like a quote, find out more at WebsiteGranted.com)!

I have been a full-time Housing Counselor since December 2024, passing my HUD-Certification in January 2025

In my free time I enjoy arranging flowers, Pilates/Lagree, volunteering, painting, and supporting Kansas City's sports teams with my husband.
